On the evening of February 25, the Singapore Chinese New Year Networking Gala commenced under warm lighting. Guests arrived one after another, filling the venue with cheerful conversations and a harmonious atmosphere.

 

 

At the beginning of the evening, the SIG host introduced the distinguished guests in attendance. We were especially honored to welcome Ng Ming Liang, Director from the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), whose presence added significance to the occasion.

Following the introductions, the rhythmic beat of drums signaled the highlight of the evening—the lion dance performance. Two lively lions leapt and danced to the sounds of gongs and drums, weaving through the tables and delivering auspicious red packets to each guest, symbolizing good fortune and prosperity for the new year. Guests eagerly interacted with the performers, and waves of laughter and applause brought the first peak of excitement to the evening.

Amid the festive atmosphere, a SIG Chinese New Year video was presented. Warm visuals intertwined with heartfelt wishes, allowing guests to enjoy the festive spirit in a relaxed setting while engaging in lively conversations.

 

 

During the speech segment, Ng Ming Liang from EDB shared his insights and well wishes for business development. Ms. Guan Xinxin, Chairwoman of SIG, remarked that truly meaningful connections are often formed in moments of relaxed and genuine interaction. SIG aims to create not just events, but a space where entrepreneurs can engage in open dialogue, share candidly, and inspire one another.

 

 

The traditional “Lo Hei” (Yusheng tossing) ceremony—symbolizing prosperity and growth—followed. Ingredients carrying auspicious meanings were added one by one, as the SIG host led everyone in a collective toast of blessings. With chopsticks raised high and laughter all around, a sense of collaboration and shared optimism flowed naturally, setting a positive tone for the year ahead.

 

 

During the toast, Chairwoman Guan Xinxin and Director Wang Rixin, together with the SIG team, visited each table to offer their regards. The exchanges were sincere and personal—conversations about recent developments, shared experiences, and reflections on past collaborations, as well as confidence and anticipation for future partnerships.

 

 

As music filled the room, live singing performances were interwoven throughout the evening. The singer  Singaporean xinyao (local Mandarin folk songs), along with several well-loved Chinese classics, resonating deeply with the audience. Toward the finale, guests joined in for a warm and spontaneous chorus, creating an atmosphere that was both intimate and uplifting.

 

 

The lucky draw segment featured a variety of thoughtfully prepared prizes. Cheers and applause echoed throughout the venue, bringing the highlight of the event and marking a perfect conclusion to the gala.

That night brought together both new acquaintances and long-time friends. Ideas were exchanged across industries, and perspectives broadened through meaningful interactions. The gala served as an open platform for entrepreneurs, where new opportunities for collaboration quietly began to take shape.
