A Night of Nanyang Charm, A Journey of China–Singapore Friendship:2026 China–Singapore Business Networking Gala Successfully Held

As spring returns with warmth and promise, friendships once separated by mountains and seas are brought together once again.

In this vibrant season full of hope and renewal, the “Singapore Heritage Night: Encountering the Elegance of  Nyonya Culture” 2026 China–Singapore Business Networking Gala, hosted by SIG GLOBAL and supported by the Singapore Global Network (SGN), was grandly held  in Suzhou, China.

 

More than 300 distinguished guests, business leaders, and partners from China and Singapore gathered for an evening of cultural exchange and meaningful connection. Through culture as a bridge and dialogue as a bond, the event opened a new chapter of bilateral business collaboration and cultural integration between the two nations.

 

 

Centered around the theme of “Baba Nyonya Culture,” the gala showcased the beauty of cultural fusion between China and Singapore through immersive Singapore-themed experiences, business sharing sessions, and vibrant artistic performances, while exploring new possibilities for future business cooperation.

Before the official program began, SIG specially curated an interactive Nanyang-inspired experience zone. Guests were welcomed with Baba Nyonya-themed postcards prepared by SGN, customized Baba Nyonya-pattern stamp activities, traditional Baba Nyonya pastries, Nanyang coffee, Singapore Sling , and Southeast Asian-inspired fragrance sachets. These thoughtfully designed experiences allowed attendees to immerse themselves in Singapore’s rich multicultural charm from the moment they arrived.

At the same time, event partners including SUNS Singapore, Zuino Wine , HSBC, and UncleLux also presented their brands through interactive showcases and networking experiences, adding further vibrancy and diversity to the evening.

 

 

This culturally rich and internationally minded gathering attracted strong support and participation from prominent political and business leaders from both Singapore and China. Distinguished guests attending the event included:

The participation of the NUS National University of Singapore Alumni Association and the Shanghai Conservatory of Music also added meaningful cultural depth and artistic exchange to the evening.

As the gala officially commenced, a Singapore-themed promotional video independently planned and produced by the SIG team premiered on screen. From cityscapes and cultural heritage to business opportunities and economic vitality, the video offered a multidimensional look at Singapore’s unique appeal as a global city-state. It not only reflected SIG’s professionalism and dedication, but also gave guests a deeper understanding of Singapore’s dynamic growth and global potential.

 

 

Following the screening, Ms. Guan Xinxin, Founder & COO of SIG GLOBAL, delivered her opening remarks. She expressed heartfelt appreciation and deep respect for Ambassador Peter Tan’s presence and emphasized that the continued advancement of China–Singapore business cooperation would not be possible without the long-standing trust and support of partners from all sectors. She reaffirmed SIG’s commitment to providing one-stop, comprehensive international business solutions with a professional and global perspective, while continuing to support enterprises in their international expansion journeys.

 

 

Ambassador Peter Tan then delivered an inspiring keynote speech, highlighting the longstanding friendship and pragmatic cooperation between Singapore and China. He noted that strong business connectivity serves as a key driving force behind bilateral economic development, and that China–Singapore collaboration extends beyond economic success to deeper cultural exchange and people-to-people friendship.

 

 

Amid warm applause, the evening’s opening performance officially began. The NUS Alumni Association Arts Society presented a Nyonya-themed dance performance that vividly showcased the elegance of Nyonya costume aesthetics and the rhythm of Nanyang culture, beautifully reflecting the harmony between Chinese and Singaporean cultures.

As the graceful dance concluded, Ambassador Peter Tan took to the stage to perform a specially adapted version of Singapore’s classic song Home. Through his heartfelt rendition, the familiar melody became an emotional tribute to home, friendship, and shared progress.

 

 

Ambassador Peter Tan then energized the audience with a powerful performance of Ai Pin Cai Hui Ying (“Only Through Hard Work Can We Succeed”), a song that resonated deeply with the entrepreneurial spirit of perseverance and collaboration shared by businesses from both nations.

 

 

Next, SIG employee Chunny delivered a touching performance of the Singapore classic Ru Yan (“Like a Swallow”), bringing fresh emotional depth to the beloved melody and evoking warm memories of Singapore for the audience.

From dance to music, from cultural expression to emotional resonance, the evening’s performances unfolded layer by layer, painting a vivid portrait of China–Singapore cultural integration while establishing a warm and meaningful atmosphere throughout the gala.

 

 

In this heartfelt and vibrant setting, Ms. Ele Ng, Singapore Global Network(SGN) Regional Director, shared insights into SGN’s ongoing efforts to foster international exchange and build global collaboration networks. She spoke about how Singapore continues to cultivate long-term and genuine international relationships, expanding its global circle of cooperation. Her sharing offered guests deeper insight into cultural exchange and international connectivity while inspiring greater anticipation for future collaboration opportunities.

 

 

The evening then moved into a warm and celebratory toast ceremony. Ambassador Peter Tan joined SIG management and distinguished guests on stage to raise a toast to the enduring friendship between Singapore and China, to the ambitions and achievements of entrepreneurs, and to the successful hosting of the gala.

 

 

During dinner, Ms. Sun Li’en, Chairwoman of CCG Group and Brand Founder of SUNS Singapore, took the stage as a representative entrepreneur speaker. Through the story of her brand’s growth and practical experiences in China–Singapore collaboration, she shared valuable insights into international business development and showcased the tangible achievements and promising future of bilateral commercial cooperation.

 

 

Later in the evening, SIG employees and performers from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music presented an impressive a cappella performance featuring Singaporean singer Stefanie Sun’s classic hit Green Light and Tonight You Belong To Me. Their layered harmonies and heartfelt performance filled the venue with warmth and emotion.

 

 

The SIG team then brought the audience another highlight with a group performance of Singapore Pie, a lively song rich in local Singaporean flavor that reflected both the unique charm of the Lion City and the spirit of unity and collaboration within the SIG team.

 

 

To further lighten the atmosphere, the gala also featured a special Singlish interactive segment. Through a humorous Singlish stand-up performance by SIG colleagues, guests were introduced to Singapore’s unique coffee culture and local expressions, experiencing another relatable and endearing side of Singaporean culture amid laughter and applause.

 

 

A special business recognition segment was also held during the gala. Ambassador Peter Tan personally presented the “China–Singapore Cooperation Excellence Award – Nanyang Heritage Distinguished Enterprise Award” to outstanding companies that have made remarkable contributions to China–Singapore collaboration.

 

 

The excitement continued with a lucky draw session, generously sponsored by the Jiangsu Liaison Office of the Singapore Chamber of Commerce & Industry in China, SUNS Singapore, and Zuino Wine. The thoughtfully prepared prizes brought surprise, joy, and good fortune to attendees, making the evening even more memorable.

 

 

As the gala approached its finale, original singer Liu Xinyu from renowned Singaporean music producer Xu Huanliang’s team delivered a captivating live performance. In addition to her original song Just Meet Once, she also performed the classic Like You by Singaporean music icon Kit Chan, once again bringing the evening’s emotions to a climax.

 

 

Finally, the gala concluded with a heartfelt group singalong of Friends, as all guests joined together on stage. The song carried warmth, friendship, and mutual appreciation, bringing this cross-border gathering to a touching and memorable close.

Though the gathering was brief, its resonance will last long beyond the night; though the exchange was temporary, the collaboration ahead remains enduring.
